  1. Hi Johnny,

Great blog you have going here! I hope you don't mind me stopping in once every so often to learn more about origami.

    I have a request:

I would really like to learn about the history and origin of the art of origami. Could you help me out here by posting a blog entry that answers my question?

To help me understand, I need to know the following:

What is the history behind the art of origami?

Also, you should consider adding a cluster map to your blog. That way, you'll be able to see where your followers are viewing your blog.

  2. Hi Eric, thanks for your interest. Origami was believed to be invented in Japan and one of the oldest forms made from origami is the crane which in Japan, is a symbol of peace. One of the earliest evidences of origami was a picture of a paper boat found in Europe and was dated from 1490. this art has grown over the years and new techniques have been invented such as: wet folding, crumpling, and modular constructions. My favorite technique is standard folding. I appreciate your interest and would like to help in the future to answer any questions.

  3. Thanks for your reply, Johnny!

So, how would you compare the different folding techniques? Does each technique afford the folder certain benefits?

    You thoughts?

  4. A beginner folder would most likely to learn the standard folding technique and learn simple models with simple folds. Wet folding and modular folding are more complex and are more suitable for experienced folders.
